New Concentrate Storage Tank Project

GCCW Limited was responsible for the civil package of a major building addition at Glencore’s Smelter, designed to accommodate a new concentrate storage tank. This project required:

• Installation of 209 helical piles
• Extensive excavation and backfilling
• Forming, reinforcing, and pouring 290 cubic meters of concrete
• Sewer installations and relocation of five existing utility trestles

A key achievement was completing the project without impacting the ongoing smelting operations—underscoring our ability to work in live industrial environments. Despite winter challenges, including record snowfalls and low temperatures, our team maintained high standards of quality and safety, delivering the project on time.

Civil Package for the New #18 Substation

In another critical project, GCCW Limited managed the civil package for Glencore’s new #18 Substation, which involved:

• Construction of High Voltage Pole Foundations
• Installation of Transformer and E-house Foundations
• Laying 200 feet of pre-cast electrical duct bank
• Pouring 80 cubic meters of concrete in winter conditions
